Docs / Getting started

Set up your company

Fill in Settings → Company in Invoa — legal name, SSM number, TIN, SST and MSIC, address, logo, stamp, bank accounts, DuitNow QR, default tax and timezone.

Settings → Company holds everything Invoa prints about your business on quotations, invoices, receipts and the customer page. Fill it in before you issue your first document. Only owners and admins can change it.

Note: When you issue a document, Invoa keeps a copy of your company details as they were at that moment. Changes you make later apply to documents issued afterwards; already-issued documents do not change.

Company

FieldWhat to enter
Legal nameYour registered name, for example Teratai Biru Ventures Sdn. Bhd. It starts as the company name you gave at sign-up. Required.
Registration no. (SSM)Your business registration number (BRN), the 12-digit SSM number, for example 202301012345.
TINYour tax identification number from MyTax, for example C12345678900.
SST no.Your SST registration number. Leave empty if you are not SST-registered.
MSIC codeThe 5-digit code for your business activity, for example 62010.
EmailShown on documents and the customer page. Emails Invoa sends for you use it as the reply-to address, so customer replies come to you.
PhoneShown on documents and the customer page.
WebsiteOptional.
Address line 1, Address line 2, Postcode, City, StateYour business address. The address is saved only when Address line 1 is filled in.

The TIN, registration number, SST no. and MSIC code are the same values you see on the e-Invoice page; changing them in one place changes both.

Important: To submit e-invoices, LHDN needs your TIN, registration number, MSIC code, an address with the State chosen, and a phone number. The e-Invoice page lists anything still missing under Still needed:. See Connect MyInvois.

Branding

ItemWhere it appears
LogoTop-left of documents and in the header of the customer page.
Stamp / signatureBottom of documents, for a company chop or signature image.

Click Upload and choose a PNG, JPG, WEBP or SVG file of up to 2 MB. Uploads are saved straight away; click Remove to take one off. A transparent PNG looks best on both.

Bank accounts

These are shown on invoices and on the customer page so customers know where to transfer.

  1. Click + Add account.
  2. Fill in Bank (for example Maybank), Account name and Account number.
  3. Optionally upload your DuitNow QR — the static QR image your bank issued for your account. Customers can scan it with any Malaysian banking app. After uploading you see QR uploaded — save to apply.
  4. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

You can add more than one account; each is listed. An account is only kept if both Bank and Account number are filled in. Click Remove next to an account to delete it.

Note: Invoa shows the QR image your bank gave you; it does not generate DuitNow QR codes. For a QR with the invoice amount filled in, turn on DuitNow QR through CHIP. See Online payments with CHIP.

Defaults

FieldWhat it does
Default tax typeThe tax pre-selected on each new line item: Service Tax 8%, Service Tax 6%, Sales Tax 5%, Sales Tax 10%, Tax exempt or Not applicable. Not SST-registered? Use Not applicable. You can still change the tax on any line.
TimezoneDefaults to Asia/Kuala_Lumpur. Invoa uses it to decide today's date for new documents and numbering. Leave it unless your business runs in another timezone.
Document footerA short line printed at the bottom of every document, for example "Thank you for your business. This is a computer-generated document."

On the Free plan, documents and emails also carry a small "Powered by Invoa · invoa.io" badge. Core and Pro remove it.

Click Save when you are done. You see Settings saved.
